Utility Line Clearing
Utility companies strive to provide the best care they can for your trees. Pruning is well-intentioned. The Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC) enforces its standards for pruning for high-voltage transmission lines. In line with national standards, trees are pruned using directional, or natural target, pruning. Trees benefit from this method as it is structurally and biologically and does not interfere with the tree’s natural defense systems. At times directional pruning can seem unsightly even when done properly. Often, the majority of tree canopy is able to be preserved, and viewed from another angle the pruning may not be visible at all.
